Stainless Steel Railing
HERITAGE ORNAMENTALS
presents Stainless Steel Modular Railing
Systems for commercial & residential architectural railing
applications on the interior & exterior.
Stair Railings are installed as a safety feature, to prevent
users from falling off the edge of the stair. They also provide a
handgrip to help maintain balance while walking up and down stairs.
The most common materials for stair railings are aluminum, steel, or
stainless steel. Stair railings may also be made of self-supporting
sheets of laminated or tempered glass, with a metal handrail running
along the top of the glass sheets.
Stainless steel is 100% recyclable. In fact, an average
stainless steel object is composed of about 60% recycled
material, 25% originating from end-of-life products and 35%
coming from manufacturing processes.
There are different types of stainless steels: when nickel is
added, for instance, the austenite structure of iron is
stabilized. This crystal structure makes such steels
non-magnetic and less brittle at low temperatures. For greater
hardness and strength, carbon is added. When subjected to
adequate heat treatment, these steels are used as razor blades,
cutlery, tools, etc.
